Terms

Terms for hosts, guests and Link in Bio

Last updated 14 October 2026

These Terms are the rules for using FollowCan (the website and its services), run by FollowCan (“FollowCan”, “we”, “us”), at A-35, Brotherhood Society, Vikaspuri, New Delhi. They apply to everyone who visits the site, books an event, hosts an event or has a Link in Bio page. By using FollowCan you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

Each host also publishes their own house rules on their page. Those cover the event itself (dress code, what to bring) and never refunds, money or safety: the rules on this page always come first.

About Your account Booking Money Hosting Link in Bio Tips and payouts Safety Content Responsibility Law and disputes Other

1. About FollowCan

FollowCan is a platform with two parts. Events: hosts publish trips and house parties, and guests book them. We provide the booking page, ID verification, balanced guest lists, payments and payouts. Link in Bio: anyone can have a page with their links in one place, with optional tips and badges.

FollowCan is an intermediary. The host, not FollowCan, organises and runs each event, decides what it includes and is responsible for it. We do not provide transport, accommodation, venues or supervision, and we are not a party to the arrangement between a guest and a host beyond the booking, verification and payment service described here. People who put pages and links on FollowCan are responsible for them.

2. Your account

  • Who can use it. You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter a binding contract under Indian law. FollowCan is for adults.
  • Sign-up and sign-in. Hosts and creators sign up with an email address, which they confirm with a code we email, and choose a password; they then log in with that email and password. A mobile number is optional. They can also choose Continue with Facebook, which confirms the email without a code. Guests who book confirm their mobile number with an SMS code and give an email. We only send messages to an email address or mobile number that has been verified. If one is not verified we ask you to verify it and tell you why, and until you do we do not write to it. Keep your password, phone, email and Facebook account secure; you are responsible for what happens through your account.
  • Invites. While FollowCan is in its early stage, new accounts may need an invite. We can change or end this at any time.
  • Accurate details. Give true information and keep it up to date. Giving false details can lead to bookings being cancelled and your account being closed.
  • ID verification. To book an event, to publish a host page, or to be paid, you verify your identity: our team checks a photo of a driving licence or a masked Aadhaar and a photo of your face. You do this once. Never send a full Aadhaar number. We keep the photos encrypted, only our verification staff open them, and we delete them a few days after we decide. We keep only a one-way fingerprint of the ID number (never the number), your date of birth and the gender shown on the ID, so that one ID can be linked to one account. See the Privacy policy.
  • One person, one account. A closed account cannot sign in or book, and the ID used for it cannot open another account.

3. Booking an event

  • Three ways to book. Each host chooses how an event is booked: (1) a refundable seat hold of an amount they set, with the rest of the ticket paid before the event; (2) payment of the whole ticket up front; or (3) no online payment, where anything you owe the host is arranged with them directly.
  • Time limits. Seat hold: approve the UPI mandate within 20 minutes and then verify your ID within 48 hours, or the seat goes back on sale and the hold is released. Whole-ticket events: pay within 15 minutes. A seat offered from the standby queue must be accepted within 12 hours.
  • Balanced groups and the standby queue. A host chooses who can join an event: a balanced group with seats for each side, a flexible limit, open to everyone, or women-only or men-only. The group you book in is checked against the gender on your verified ID. When a side is full, new requests join the standby queue and the first person waiting is offered a seat when one opens. A host can also let a specific person in.
  • The group chat. Hosts can switch on a group chat for an event. It is for guests with a confirmed seat and the host. It opens about 48 hours before the start and closes about 24 hours after the event ends. You appear as your first name and the first letter of your last name; your phone number and email are never shown. Messages are deleted 7 days after the chat closes. The conduct rules in section 8 apply there too.
  • Your address. The exact address is shared only with confirmed, ID-verified guests, as the host chose: as soon as you are confirmed, or about 24 hours before the start. Do not share it.

4. Money, refunds and cancellations

  • Payments. Payments are handled by our payment provider (Razorpay) and its banking partners. We do not see or keep your UPI PIN or bank details. Prices are in Indian rupees. Where GST applies it is shown on the invoice we issue for amounts we charge.
  • What is a seat hold? A UPI Autopay mandate, not a charge. Nothing is taken when you book. If the group does not balance or you are not confirmed, it is released automatically. Once your seat is confirmed the hold becomes the first part of your ticket: after the event, if you attended, it is charged and counts towards the price; if you did not show up, it is charged and kept by FollowCan as a no-show charge. By approving the mandate you authorise this.
  • The rest of the ticket. It is collected through a payment link before the event, due about 3 days before the start. If it is still unpaid then, the link closes, your seat stays, and you pay the balance to the host at the door when you check in. That payment is between you and the host; FollowCan does not handle it.
  • If you cancel. You can cancel from your booking page. Seat hold events: your hold is kept once your seat is confirmed. Any ticket money you already paid is refunded in full if you cancel at least the number of days the host set before the start (shown on their page), a set percentage if you cancel closer than that, and nothing once the event has started. Whole-ticket events: the same schedule applies to the ticket. No-online-payment events: you can cancel any time; anything you paid the host directly is between you and the host.
  • If you do not show up. A confirmed guest who is not checked in is treated as a no-show. The hold is kept by FollowCan as described above. Ticket money you already paid is returned only as far as the host chose for that event (none, half or all), shown on the host’s page before you book.
  • When we refund you in full. If the host removes you, the host or FollowCan cancels the event, or your ID check fails or expires after you paid, any hold is released and everything you paid is refunded in full. Refunds go back to the payment method you used. We start them straight away; how long your bank takes to show them is up to the bank.
  • Disputes about a charge. Write to info@followcan.com with your booking reference and we will look into it. We may ask for details.

5. Hosting

  • Becoming a host. Anyone can sign up as a host, set up their page, and create and preview events. To publish an event, and for the host’s page to go live, the host must first verify their ID, by an ID check by our team. A host’s page cannot go live, or come back after a suspension, until the ID check is done. A host adds a payout UPI ID before the first payout, and payouts follow the rules below.
  • Your duties. Give accurate information about your events and venues; hold the permissions your venue or activity needs; keep guests safe; follow the law; and honour confirmed bookings. You are responsible for your own taxes, including GST where it applies, and for any licences, insurance and permissions your event needs.
  • Refunds are set by FollowCan, not by hosts. A host chooses the number of days for a full refund, the percentage refunded after that, and whether a no-show gets none, half or all of their ticket money back, within limits. These Terms apply to every event and cannot be changed or contradicted in a host’s own house rules.
  • Payouts. After an event ends, FollowCan settles it and pays the host to their UPI ID about 48 hours after the event ends. The payout is the money collected for the event (holds and tickets of guests who attended, and the part of a no-show’s ticket money the host chose not to refund, less refunds). Holds kept for no-shows are kept by FollowCan. Balances paid to the host at the door are between the guest and the host and are not part of the payout. A payout is made only to a host whose ID has been verified through DigiLocker (until DigiLocker is available, the money is held for them), and can be held or reversed if an event is disputed or a host is suspended.
  • Guest information. A host sees the name, contact details and attendance history (check-ins only, never a released hold) of guests who book their events. Use it only to run the event and keep guests safe. Do not misuse it, copy it or share it.
  • Suspension. We can suspend a host’s page, with or without cancelling upcoming events, if there are complaints, safety concerns or a breach of these Terms. Guests who already booked are refunded in full if an event is cancelled.
  • What it is. A free page at followcan.com/u/your-name with your links in one place. Anyone can see it, so only put there what you are happy to share. The free plan allows 1 page(s) per account and 20 links on each. Paid plans, where offered, are billed through our payment provider; the price and what is included are shown before you pay. Ending a plan hides pages beyond the free allowance; it never deletes them.
  • Celebrity pages. Pages for well-known people may be created by FollowCan from public information. They are marked “Unofficial page” until the person claims them. A person can ask for their page to be corrected or removed.
  • Badges. Badges show on a page for things like follower milestones, being active or being verified. Some are awarded automatically from figures such as your connected Instagram follower count, some by our team. A badge is a feature of FollowCan, not a certificate or an endorsement. We can change the rules, and a badge can end or be removed if the figures change or the rules are broken.
  • Connections. If you connect Instagram, we show your latest posts on your page. You can disconnect at any time.
  • Visits and clicks. We count visits and clicks as daily totals so the page owner can see how the page is doing.
  • Links we check. Web addresses on pages are checked against safety services when saved and again from time to time. We may block a link, or take a page offline, that looks unsafe.

7. Tips and payouts to creators

  • Tips. If a creator turns tips on, visitors can send a tip of ₹20 to ₹10,000 from their page. A tip is a gift to the creator: it does not buy goods or services and is not refunded, except where we made a mistake and the creator has not yet been paid.
  • Fees. The creator receives the tip.
  • Receiving tips. A creator can receive tips without an ID check, but the money is only delivered once the creator has verified their identity through DigiLocker (until DigiLocker is available, the money is held for them) and added a UPI ID. Until then it is held for them. Tips are paid out weekly once the balance reaches ₹500; a smaller balance waits for a later week.
  • Tax. Creators are responsible for any tax on what they receive.

8. Conduct and guest safety

  • Zero tolerance. Harassment, discrimination, violence, spiking, recording people without their consent and any behaviour that makes others unsafe are not allowed, at an event or in messages about one. We can remove a guest or host and, for serious cases, permanently ban them.
  • Report a problem. Guests: open your booking and choose Report a problem. Hosts: use Report beside a guest on your guest list. Anyone can report a Link in Bio page from its “Report this page” link. You can also write to info@followcan.com with the booking reference or the page address. In an emergency call the police first (112 in India). We review every report. We may warn someone, remove a guest from an event, suspend a host and cancel their events (guests are refunded in full), take a page offline, or close an account for good. The person reported does not see who reported them.
  • Staying safe. Tell someone you trust where you are going, travel with care, and leave if you are uncomfortable. IDs are verified, but we cannot know how anyone will behave. Only attend events you are comfortable with.
  • Reviews. Only guests who attended can review an event, for 30 days after it. Hosts can reply. We can hide a review that is abusive, off-topic or breaks these Terms.

9. What you put on FollowCan

  • Yours, but we can show it. You keep ownership of what you post (pictures, text, links, reviews, messages). You give FollowCan a free, worldwide licence to store, display and share it only as needed to run the service, for as long as it is on FollowCan.
  • You promise that you have the right to post it and that it does not break the law or anyone’s rights.
  • Pictures you upload. This covers profile pictures, covers, background images and event photos. Upload only pictures you own or have permission to use. They must not be someone else’s copyrighted work. FollowCan does not check or verify who owns a picture and is not responsible or liable for what users upload. The person who uploads a picture is responsible for it, including any claim made about it.
  • No nudity. Nudity and sexually explicit pictures are not allowed anywhere on FollowCan, including backgrounds, covers and event photos.
  • Not allowed: pretending to be someone else; scams, phishing or malware; links to sites that collect other people’s details under false pretences; nudity or sexually explicit content; content that is unlawful, harassing, hateful, or that threatens or exploits people; infringing someone’s copyright or trademark; spam; and trying to break, overload or get around the service.
  • Taking things down. We may remove any content, page or link that breaks these Terms or the law, or when we are required to, at any time and without telling you first. For serious or repeated breaches, such as nudity or using someone else’s copyrighted pictures, we may close the account permanently, also without notice. A page we take offline for safety reasons cannot be brought back by its owner. If you think something infringes your rights or is unlawful, write to our Grievance Officer (section 12).

10. Our responsibility

  • Events carry real-world risk. You take part at your own risk. We cannot control or guarantee what hosts or other guests do.
  • The service “as is”. We work to keep FollowCan available and accurate, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and the services of third parties (payments, SMS, email, Instagram) can fail.
  • Limit. To the extent the law allows, FollowCan is responsible for the booking, verification and payment service it provides and for nothing else. We are not liable for losses caused by a host, a guest or another user, or for pictures and other content that users upload; for indirect or consequential loss; or for loss of profit, data or opportunity. Where we are liable to you, our total liability for a claim is limited to the amount you paid us (or, for a payout, the amount we held for you) in connection with it. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
  • Indemnity. You will cover our reasonable costs if a claim against us arises because you broke these Terms or the law, or because of what you posted or did at an event you hosted.

11. Law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. We would like to settle any disagreement directly first: write to info@followcan.com. If we cannot, the courts at New Delhi, India have exclusive jurisdiction, except where the law lets a consumer use another forum.

12. Other things you should know

  • Your data. How we use your data, how long we keep it and how to download or delete it are in the Privacy policy.
  • Grievance Officer. Complaints about content, accounts or these Terms: write to Nidhi Manchanda at info@followcan.com. We acknowledge a complaint within 48 hours and aim to resolve it within 15 days.
  • Suspension and ending. You can stop using FollowCan, and delete your account, at any time (some open bookings, refunds or payouts must finish first). We can suspend or end your access for breaking these Terms, for safety reasons or if the law requires. Sections that by their nature should survive (money owed, liability, law and disputes) do.
  • Changes. We may update these Terms. The version on this page applies to bookings and use from the date shown above; for a significant change we will tell you by email or on the site. Using FollowCan after a change means you accept it.
  • If a part does not apply. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a right now does not mean we give it up.
  • Questions. Write to info@followcan.com.
